Sugar cake:

Crack a few eggs into a glass. Measure an identical amount of sugar in an identical glass, and an identical amount of flour into another identical glass. Put in a tiny bit of baking soda into the flour (~½ tsp). Whisk the eggs into the sugar, and then the flour into the mixture, at a slower pace. Bake at around 175° (perhaps more) for 20 to 30 minutes. Check the doneness with a toothpick.
